Your very first visit to our office will include pinpointing your condition so that we can troubleshoot what can be done to address your pain. After you fill out a form that explains to us all of your symptoms, and the pain level that you are at, we will be able to customize your care. Sample questions may include your current pain level on a scale of 1 to 10, where the pain is radiating from and so on. When you come to your appointment, make sure that you wear clothing that is comfortable.
You will have a full patient assessment to gather baseline measurements. We will take a look at your general fitness level to see if there are issues with blood flow or set backs. We will then take a look at the various joint, muscle, orthopedic and neurological groups. There may also be tests to look at the range of motion that you have to determine what the muscle tone and strength or neurological integrity may be of the affected area so that we can further pinpoint the issue at hand. You may be asked to move in a certain way so that your posture can be analyzed or there may be chiropractic manipulation of the body part that is causing issue.
After we fully assess your questionnaire and your examination results, we will make an evaluation on all of information as to whether you would benefit from quality chiropractic care. This assessment will also talk about the potential length of treatment, including the number of sessions and the types of techniques may be able to help you most to deal with your individual situation. The costs and scheduling for services will also be discussed at this time.
Your customized treatment plan will be developed by our office, covering physical changes that you will go through during the treatment. Your visit to one of our highly experienced chiropractors will possibly give you the answers that you need to allow you the freedom, comfort, balance and movement that you have been missing out on in your daily life due to your condition. If there are any questions or concerns about the plan for treatment, you can feel free to discuss it with us.
During Your First Exam
It is important that you drink plenty of water before arrival. Many patients will see rapid improvement from the moment that they are treated, including methods such as soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments and other forms of physical adjustment. We work only on your go ahead as a patient and if there is anything that you do not feel comfortable with, we work to adjust treatment accordingly. There will also be advice on home care, if necessary, for certain activities or any positions that should be avoided. This may include stretches, exercises and even the use of ice or cold packs.
